Who’s helping with the project

Glenn Fleishman

Glenn Fleishman became involved in 2018 with early drafts of the book, and has worked as its formal editor, as well as managing getting the book on press, through its crowdfunding stage, and into fulfillment and shipping.

Glenn started as a typesetter and has a degree in graphic design. An early Amazon employee and founder of one of the first web hosting companies in 1993, he later turned to journalism. He’s written thousands of articles about technology for the New York Times, the Economist, Wired, Fast Company, Macworld, and many other publications. He is the author of a dozen titles in the Take Control Books series, and has written extensively about type and printing history in recent years.

Glenn has raised hundreds of thousands across several successfully fulfilled Kickstarter projects, including the Tiny Type Museum & Time Capsule and four books. He has consulted as a friend, colleague, and paid adviser at early and late stages on dozens of crowdfunding projects that have collectively raised many millions of dollars.

Glenn also worked in prepress starting in the 1980s. Since then, he has designed or managed the production of dozens of print books over the decades for the Yale Printing Service, Peachpit Press, and his own Aperiodical imprint.
